The i.K.A.R.E. Work Experience Internship Program provides year-round internship opportunities for our youths ages 16 to 24. Participants who enter into the program will be assigned a case manager/advisor to help each individual gain the necessary skills to enhance their career.
The i.K.A.R.E. Work Experience Internship Program is dedicated to providing a wealth of supportive services to ensure each participants success! Our goal is to provide exposure to real-world careers, work experience and job readiness skills. Participants will learn about work environments and the rules that govern them, from safety procedures to office etiquette. Participants may choose from a variety of positions such as cashiers, clerical workers, recreational aides, etc. The i.K.A.R.E. Work Experience Internship Program offers the following services:
Job Readiness Skills Development: Includes assistance with acquiring employment, developing interview skills, Introduction to networking, Enhancement of job search techniques, Assistance with resume package nurturing marketable job skills and learning professionalism.
Work-Study/Work Experience/Internships: Includes work experience at various locations in the Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
Job Search/Placement Assistance: The iKARE Work Experience Internship Program Placement Assistance offers assistance with the job search, but iKARE does not directly place participants in jobs. Our staff diligently works to help the participant identify employers in his or her geographic area in order to advance the student’s employment prospects.
Assistance with Clothing for Employment: Includes proper dress attire for the workplace.
