i.K.A.R.E. I.nspiring K.ids to A.chieve R.esults through E.ducation
i.K.A.R.E. was founded on the principles of enriching the lives of youth and young adults, ages 6 to 24, who are in need of i.K.A.R.E.’s services. i.K.A.R.E. understands that the youth, young adults and including the homeless young adult population, can be an isolated group, deprived of supportive relationships with adults within their families, schools, communities and work places. This deprivation can result in poor socialization that can transition to adult roles and interpersonal networks needed for educational and career success.
The program benefits are far-reaching. We anticipate that the implementation of services will result in its participants to place a higher value on stable and nurturing home environments, healthy child development, and also increase educational and economic awareness. The year-round program incorporates ongoing education that will help to ensure that each participant is equipped with the tools needed to be a successful and contributing member of society.
The staff and volunteers of i.K.A.R.E. work with the goal of improving the lives of someone in need on a daily basis. Whether it’s working with a participant, answering a call from a concerned parent, raising funds to support various programs, writing grants, partnerships with other community organizations, presentations at local schools, or meeting with the youth on the streets, i.K.A.R.E.’s staff is dedicated to touching lives and shaping the futures of those in need.
